Bia Hoi (Fresh Beer & Vietnamese Street Food) Brunswick East – Melbourne, Australia

A summer fling!

The story so far: three industry veterans go to Vietnam, drink beer, eat amazing food and are inspired to share the fun and simplicity of their newest discovery: bia hoi (fresh beer) and the food that goes with it.

The opportunity to do something genuinely simple and fun in one of their favourite ‘hoods, after years working at the serious end of town, was considered a perfect match, and a great way to see out the summer.

For two nights a week from the end of January to the end of March, Tom Stanislavski will be turning out 4 or 5 beer-friendly Vietnamese dishes – think prawn cakes on sugar cane, barbecued quail, mini banh mi, and charred eggplant with secret herbs – to be washed down with fresh small batch beer from Thunder Road www.thunderroadbrewing.com, Michael Hole of Small Block is lending the space.

Bia Hoi Brunswick East will be fun, uncomplicated and over at the end of the season – just like summer flings used to be…

When: 6.30pm onwards (until sold out!) 24 January until 24 March 2013 Thursdays and Sundays only
